Freelance Ladieswear Designer

We are looking for an experienced Freelance Ladieswear Designer to join a busy team, specialising in mature ladies wear.

The ideal candidate will have strong all-round womenswear design experience and be confident designing across a wide range of product categories, including:

* Tops & blouses

* Dresses

* Knitwear

* Trousers & bottoms

* Jackets & outerwear

* Co-ordinated pieces and other ladies wear

Key Responsibilities

* Designing commercial, stylish and wearable collections for the mature ladies wear market

* Creating new styles and developing existing designs

* CAD design and preparation for sampling, including accurate size specifications

* Creating and developing prints, patterns and colourways

* Working closely with the sampling and production process to ensure designs are clearly communicated

* Keeping up to date with current fashion trends while understanding the needs of the mature customer

* Working independently and managing deadlines across multiple projects

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone with:

* Proven experience as a Ladieswear Designer

* Strong knowledge of the mature ladies wear market

* Excellent all-round product knowledge

* Strong CAD skills and experience preparing designs for sampling

* Experience creating original prints and artwork

* A good understanding of garment construction, fit and sizing

* A commercial eye and ability to design with the customer and market in mind

* Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a small, busy team

Working Pattern

Freelance – 2 days per week in the office, with the possibility of 3 days depending on workload.
