Greater Manchester has a powerful story to tell and we’re looking for a creative digital content and livestream specialist to help us tell it. This is an exciting opportunity to create video, photos, events and social media content for one of the UK’s most high-profile city-regions.

Although the role covers a range of digital content and audio-visual tasks, we're especially interested in finding someone with solid photography skills, including flash photography.

As a Communications and Engagement Senior Officer (Digital Content and Livestream) you’ll be collaborating with the talented Audio-Visual team, producing impactful content for Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA), Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS), the Mayor of Greater Manchester, the Deputy Mayor and our partners.

You’ll be joining a team taking award-winning photos, shooting and editing captivating videos, delivering high-profile event production and creating high-quality podcasts. Your work will be helping people understand what is happening across Greater Manchester and why it matters.

You’ll bring creativity and technical expertise, delivering exceptional content in a fast-moving environment.

You’ll be a key contributor helping bring Greater Manchester’s priorities to life through content creation and events production. In this role, you will:

• Support the work of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) Communications and Engagement service by providing digital content and livestream services.
• Provide photography, video, livestream, audio and editing services to support GMCA’s vision for Greater Manchester as set out in the Greater Manchester Strategy and GMCA Corporate Plan and ensure our work and the devolution powers which help drive it are recognised and understood by our colleagues, partners and the public and that they feel engaged and involved.
• Support GMFRS requirements, providing photography, video, live event support and other digital content creation as required.
• Work with AV colleagues to deliver live streamed events, including high-profile press conferences, scrutiny meetings, and staff events.
• Work closely with the Audio-Visual team and internal colleagues from across GMCA, including Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS), as well as suppliers and external partners.

This role sits at the heart of a high-profile, high-impact communications service, and you’ll play a key part in how Greater Manchester communicates with the people it serves.

• Hands-on experience producing high-quality digital content for a high-profile organisation, with the ability to film and edit at pace.
• Experience creating high-quality content and complex live streaming for high-profile events, with a strong focus on reliability, accessibility and technical excellence.
• Good writing skills and editorial judgement, able to translate complex ideas and cutting edge policy into clear, engaging content for different audiences.
• Calm, resilient and adaptable with sound judgement under pressure and managing competing priorities in a fastpaced environment.
• Collaborative and skilled at building effective relationships across a large, complex organisation, working confidently with colleagues, partners and stakeholders.
