Job Description & How to Apply Below

The Whitworth is part of The University of Manchester and one of the UK’s leading university art galleries, connecting art, people and ideas across Manchester and beyond.

The Digital Content Officer will plan, create and deliver high-quality digital content across the Whitworth’s channels, with a particular focus on social media, video, photography, website and newsletters.

You will create engaging, accessible and visually compelling content that brings the Whitworth’s exhibitions, collections, public programmes and civic work to life.

Working closely with colleagues across Curatorial, Civic Engagement and Education, and Audiences and Communications, you will identify stories, capture rich content, and translate them into platform-ready outputs that build connection with audiences locally, nationally and internationally.

This is a practical role suited to a confident content creator who is comfortable filming, editing and producing work independently, while contributing to agreed communications plans.

What you will get in return:
  • Fantastic market leading Pension scheme
  • Excellent employee health and wellbeing services including an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Exceptional starting annual leave entitlement, plus bank holidays
  • Additional paid closure over the Christmas period
  • Local and national discounts at a range of major retailers

As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of age, sex, gender (or gender identity), ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status. All appointments are made on merit.

Our University is positive about flexible working – you can find out more here.

Hybrid working arrangements may be considered.
