• Experience in the day-to-day clinical management of a Paediatric Dentistry service

• Clinical leadership experience in paediatric dentistry
• Qualification in Medical Leadership

• Effective participation in clinical audit/service evaluations & quality improvement

• Lead role in the delivery of QI initiatives

• Experience of postgraduate and undergraduate teaching and training, at an appropriate level
• Experience in supervising DCTs & St Rs

• Teaching qualification

• Experience in multi-disciplinary and multiprofessional management of complex paediatric dental patients
• Experience of delivering tertiary care in a Children's Hospital environment

• Experience in Community Dental Services setting
• Competence in intravenous sedation as an operator-sedationist

• BDS or equivalent
• Membership in Paediatric Dentistry or equivalent.
• Possession of a Certificate of Accreditation or eligibility for a CCST in Paediatric Dentistry.
• Possession of the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Examination in Paediatric Dentistry or equivalent upon taking up post.

• Other Postgraduate qualification in Paediatric Dentistry or equivalent (e.g. MSc, Professional Doctorate)
• Successful completion of a SAC approved 2-year minimum training programme in a FTTA in Paediatric Dentistry, or within 6 months of such, or equivalent 'run through' training

• Ability to critically appraise scientific literature

• Research qualification (e.g. MRes, PhD)
• Research relevant to Paediatric Dentistry
• Participation in clinical research Publications in peer-reviewed journals

• Full registration with the United Kingdom (UK) General Dental Council (GDC).
• Registered on GDC Specialist list in Paediatric Dentistry, UK

• Clarity in written/spoken communication; adapts language appropriately; builds rapport, listens, persuades, negotiates
• Uses logical/lateral thinking
• Works effectively in the team, uses appropriate delegation,…
