As an Interaction Designer at DWP Digital, you will design simple, accessible solutions used by millions every day, working closely with researchers, developers, and other design experts. You will turn insights into prototypes, champion inclusion, and collaborate openly to create consistent, user‑focused experiences.
What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?- Evidence‑Based Design – work collaboratively to design solutions based on evidence, identify gaps in knowledge and ensure user needs are met.
- Prototyping Expertise – experience using a variety of prototyping tools and techniques to explore and validate design concepts.
- Clear Communication & Collaboration – present your work confidently, explain design decisions in an easy‑to‑understand way, and actively listen to feedback from stakeholders and team members.
- Accessibility & Inclusive Design – proven track record of designing with accessibility in mind, familiarity with WCAG 2.2 guidelines and consistently meeting AA standards.
- Open Working & Engagement – work in the open, engaging others throughout the design process to build shared understanding and transparency.
In this role you will use research and analytics to understand user needs and design solutions that meet them. You will create prototypes, test ideas, and design with accessibility and inclusion at the heart of everything you do. Collaboration is key; you will work openly with your team, share knowledge, and ensure your designs are consistent with the Design System. You will also contribute to the wider Interaction Design community within DWP and across government, helping to set standards and share best practice.

- Hybrid Working: Work some time from home and some time face‑to‑face in a hub.
- Pay: Up to £46,547.
