Design Manager - Building Envelope

Kasmir Associates are recruiting for a growing construction company seeking an experienced Design Manager specialising in Building Envelope solutions.

You will lead and manage the design of building envelope systems from concept through to construction, ensuring compliance, buildability, cost alignment, and delivery to programme. The role includes responsibility for BSR compliance where applicable and coordination of internal and external design teams.

• Lead conceptual and detailed design of building envelopes including façades, curtain walling, cladding, glazing, and roofing systems
• Manage designs from feasibility to completion, coordinating timelines, budgets and deliverables
• Oversee multidisciplinary design teams, collaborating between architects, engineers and consultants
• Conduct technical reviews of systems including structural support, waterproofing, thermal performance and material selection
• Manage design programmes, deliverables, and approvals
• Undertake technical reviews (structure, fire, thermal, waterproofing)
• Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, BSR, and BREEAM
• Prepare and review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
• Liaise with clients and contractors to resolve design issues

• Proven experience in building envelope / façade design
• Strong knowledge of curtain walling, cladding, and glazing and integrated façade designs
• Degree in Architecture or related discipline
• Experience managing design packages or projects
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, Grasshoper or similar architectural design software
• Strong communication and organisational skills
