We are working with a progressive, multidisciplinary engineering and design consultancy to appoint a CAD / BIM Technician for their Manchester studio.
This is an opportunity to join a collaborative and sustainability focused practice delivering projects across the built environment, with a strong emphasis on thoughtful, environmentally responsible design. The business works across a broad range of sectors and is recognised for its creative and technically driven approach to project delivery.
You will be joining a growing team working closely with engineers, architects and wider project teams on projects from early concept through to construction.
The Role - As a CAD / BIM Technician, you will play a key role in the production and coordination of technical drawings and BIM models across a range of projects.
Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will help translate design concepts into coordinated, accurate and buildable technical information while ensuring compliance with project standards and BIM processes.
The role offers exposure to projects across multiple sectors and the opportunity to develop within a collaborative and design focused environment.
Key responsibilities include
Producing 2D drawings and 3D BIM models using AutoCAD and Revit
Updating and revising drawings in line with project requirements and design changes
Supporting the preparation of drawings for planning, technical submissions and construction
Coordinating with architects, engineers and project teams to ensure designs are fully coordinated
Assisting with clash detection and model coordination processes
Maintaining BIM standards, templates and drawing libraries
Supporting document control, plotting and technical administration where required
Ensuring all technical information complies with company and industry standards
About You
Experience working as a CAD or BIM Technician within the built environment
Proficiency using AutoCAD and Revit
Good understanding of BIM processes and collaborative working practices
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
Interest in sustainable design and the wider built environment
