The Timber Frame Designer is responsible for producing accurate timber frame designs and technical drawings for residential projects. Working closely with architects, engineers, project managers, and production teams, the role ensures designs are compliant, cost-effective, and suitable for manufacture and installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce timber frame design drawings using CAD based software.
- Interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Prepare manufacturing drawings, layouts, and material schedules.
- Ensure compliance with Building Regulations and relevant standards.
- Liaise with internal teams, clients, and consultants to resolve design issues.
- Support production and site teams with technical information.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and revision control.
Requirements
- Qualification in Construction, Architectural Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience in timber frame or offsite construction design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit or timber design software desirable).
- Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and timber construction.
- Strong communication, organisation, and attention to detail.
