Consultant Physician – General Medicine and Rheumatology

We are recruiting a Consultant Physician to join our dedicated General Medicine team at Manchester Royal Infirmary and the Rheumatology Department at North Manchester General Hospital. You will be part of a large multidisciplinary team of junior trainees, clinical fellows, specialist nurses and allied health professionals within the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

• Provide clinical leadership in inpatient medicine and supervise junior medical staff and multi‑professional trainees.
• Develop and enhance specialist rheumatology services, working closely with other consultants.
• Maintain and deliver quality standards in medical care across key inpatient areas.
• Participate in an out‑of‑hours on‑site rota (8 am‑4 pm) covering 8 weekends and 1 bank holiday per year.

• Training in general rheumatology and a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or its equivalent in Rheumatology and General (Internal) Medicine.
• Within 6 months of completing the qualification at the time of interview is acceptable.
• Experience in supervising junior staff and delivering high‑standard inpatient care.
