Haematologist, Internal Medicine Physician
Manchester Royal Infirmary is seeking to recruit a Senior Resident Doctor in Haematology to join our dynamic and expanding team.
To be part of the Haematology Department at MRI, one of the major specialist hospitals within Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. The Trust leads the Greater Manchester Haematological Cancer Diagnostic Partnership and the North West Genomics Hub, ensuring access to state‑of‑the‑art diagnostics and multidisciplinary collaboration across the region.
This post would suit:- A doctor at IMT3 level or equivalent seeking to gain clinical and laboratory experience in Haematology prior to applying for higher specialist training.
- Doctors with previous Haematology experience looking for a middle‑grade, non‑training role, or considering the CESR pathway towards specialist registration.
- Comprehensive training in both malignant and non‑malignant haematology.
- Opportunities to participate in research, audit, and teaching within an academic and supportive environment.
Applicants who are not GMC‑registered at the time of application will be considered under the Trust's International Fellowship Scheme (please note, a £500 administration fee applies). More information about this scheme is available on our Trust website.

- Medical Degree
- Minimum of 2 years' full time (or equivalent part time) hospital service in the ST1-2 grade or higher
- Experience in General Haematology
- MRCP
- Experience in Malignant Haematology
- Experience in Non‑malignant Haematology
- Experience in Stem cell transplantation
- FRCPath
- Participation in Clinical Audit
- Teaching Medical Students
- Teaching Junior Medical Staff
- Full registration (or eligible for full registration) with the General Medical Council
- Organisation Skills

- Publications in medical journals
- Research experience relating to general haematology
