This is a 10 PA post providing comprehensive outpatient endocrinology care alongside inpatient and in-reach endocrine support for oncology services. The post holder will join an established consultant team within one of the UK’s first integrated Supportive Oncology Directorates, delivering expert care for complex endocrine disorders, with a particular focus on cancer-related endocrinology and late effects of cancer treatment.

The role combines specialist clinical practice with opportunities for service development, multidisciplinary working, education, and research in a leading cancer centre. The successful candidate will contribute to a progressive, patient-centred service that supports cancer survivors and oncology patients through integrated, equitable, and high-quality endocrine care.

Main duties of the job

Deliver a high-quality consultant-led endocrinology service for inpatients and outpatients at The Christie, with clinical responsibility for a defined caseload including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. Provide specialist endocrine input to oncology inpatients, managing cancer-related endocrine and metabolic complications, and contribute to general and specialist clinics in cancer-related endocrinology, metabolic bone disease, pituitary, adrenal, and thyroid services, as well as MDT meetings and joint clinics across Supportive Oncology and the wider Trust.

Work within the consultant team to supervise junior doctors, support ward consults and day-case activity, and provide senior leadership, mentorship, and supervision to trainees and the multidisciplinary team, promoting a collaborative working environment. Contribute to service development, quality improvement, and endocrine oncology service evolution through clinical governance, including audit, guideline development, and risk management in line with national and Trust standards.

Support undergraduate and postgraduate education, contribute to research and clinical trials, maintain CPD, and participate fully in appraisal, revalidation, mandatory training, and Supporting Professional Activities.
