Locum Consultant Adult Psychiatrist – Greater Manchester

Role Overview

We’re looking for a dedicated Consultant in Adult Psychiatry to provide high quality mental health care at Meadowbrook
, Salford Royal Hospital, Stott Lane, Salford, M6 8HD
, working Monday – Friday 09:00‑17:00 (1‑hour lunch break required). The role is a full‑time locum position paid at £100‑£125 per hour (PAYE), with NHS funding and comprehensive support.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver day‑to‑day adult psychiatric care in the Mac Coll ward and Section 12 units.
• Prescribe and manage treatment plans, including medication, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, nursing staff, and community services.
• Complete documentation and reporting in line with NHS standards.
• Maintain GMC registration and comply with all regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
• MRCPsych, FRCPsych, or equivalent GMC specialist registration in Adult Psychiatry.
• CCT in Adult Psychiatry.
• Full GMC registration with a specialist licence to practise in Adult Psychiatry.
• Approval by the Health Board under s22 of the Mental Health Act.
• Current DBS (or equivalent) check or willingness to obtain one.
• UK right to work.
