Job Summary
Full‑time appointment for a Specialty Doctor in psychiatry to work with the community mental health team for older adults in the East Cluster of Salford. The role covers predominantly Broughton, Swinton, Pendlebury and Prestwich Village. The successful candidate will be supervised by Dr N Sultana. Participation in an on‑call rota is not required but can be negotiated if desired.

- Join the clinical team that supports East Salford and serve as base in Swinton.
- Liaise with other medical colleagues in the Salford area and support the community team with clinical activity, including meetings, CPAs, professional meetings and Mental Health Act related activity.
- Review patients presenting to MATs clinics and complete home visits for MATS and CMHT patients.
- Diagnose and formulate management plans with supervision as required.
- Obtain Section 12 approval (S12 or AC) if not already held.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, external partners and local GP services.
- Assess and manage risk, including vulnerability, suicide risk, risks to health and safety and risk of harm to others.
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
- Excellent knowledge in the specialty.
- Excellent clinical skills using a bio‑psycho‑social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
- Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.
- Make decisions based on evidence and experience, incorporating the contribution of others.
- Meet duties under the MHA and MCA.
- Have actively participated in clinical audit and quality improvement programmes.
