An opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled clinician to work with world-leading researchers at the Faculty of Biology, Medicine & Health, University of Manchester and the NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre. This full-time post offers an opportunity to build on your existing clinical experience and develop research skills in cardio-rheumatology. You will support the CARDIO-IMID (cardio-rheumatology) research programmes, with a strategy that aims to advance management of immune mediated diseases and improve cardiovascular involvement.
You will work with Professor Buch’s experimental medicine research team and key academics across rheumatology, cardio-rheumatology and imaging groups to support novel and ambitious research studies. The post requires collaboration with team members across the Faculty of Biology, Medicine & Health and BRC and you will be integral to the success of the wider research programmes. The expectation is to recruit to, develop research projects, and help with data analysis and publications.
There is an opportunity to work towards a higher research degree. This is an exciting opportunity for a rheumatology trainee aiming to sub specialise and pursue an academic career. You will be medically qualified, with MRCP or equivalent, a training number in rheumatology and full GMC registration.
- Support and contribute to the CARDIO-IMID research programmes in cardio-rheumatology.
- Collaborate with world-leading researchers across rheumatology, cardio-rheumatology, and imaging groups.
- Recruit to, develop, and manage research projects; assist with data analysis and publications.
- Work with the Faculty of Biology, Medicine & Health and BRC teams to support the wider research programmes.
- Pursue opportunities to advanced training or higher research degrees as applicable.
- Medically qualified with MRCP or equivalent.
