Position: Locally Employed Doctor

Overview

As a Clinical Fellow you will work across our 31‑bed Palatine Ward, the 4‑bed inpatient unit and adjacent ambulatory care unit, collaborating with consultants, specialty trainees, clinical fellows, research fellows and IMTs to provide exceptional care for haematology and CAR T patients. You will participate in weekly ward rounds, MDTs and specialist outpatient clinics, and support the development of ambulatory pathways for CAR T patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high quality inpatient and outpatient medical support across haematology services.
  • Review Haematology inpatients on the Palatine and Withington Wards and other inpatient areas across the Trust.
  • Support the transition of CAR T services to an ambulatory model.
  • Participate in weekly CAR T and cellular therapy outpatient clinics.
  • Attend departmental teaching sessions and contribute to MDT meetings.
  • Perform and train in procedures such as bone marrow biopsies and femoral lines.
  • Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, families and the wider MDT.
  • Prioritise workload using strong organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Work flexibly to provide cross‑cover for inpatient and outpatient areas.
Work Schedule & Benefits

Full‑time (40 hours per week). This role offers experience in cutting‑edge cellular therapies and a key role in the Trust’s transition of CAR T services to an ambulatory model. The Christie is one of Europe’s leading cancer centres, treating over 60 000 patients a year and providing a wide range of specialist services.
