Programme Overview
The Beyond Boundaries Programme is a pioneering diversity access initiative launched by TLT LLP in partnership with The Black Apprentice Network (BAN). It is designed to create meaningful pathways into legal and professional services careers for Year 12 students from Black heritage backgrounds across England. This programme reflects TLT’s commitment to equity, opportunity, and excellence in the legal sector.
Purpose of the ProgrammeTo provide structured support, mentorship, and practical exposure to help participants prepare for solicitor apprenticeship opportunities and develop the skills needed for a successful career in law.
Participants will:- Engage in Mentorship-Paired with mentors from TLT’s Ethnic Diversity Network and an Apprentice Buddy for ongoing guidance.
- Attend Employability Workshops - Four interactive sessions covering Mock Interviews & STAR Technique, Personal Brand & Professional Behaviours, Confidence & Communication and Commercial Awareness.
- Gain Practical Legal Exposure - Participate in Legal Workshop and Networking Event, Insight sessions with TLT professionals, and an Application Masterclasses and Assessment Centre preparation.
- Develop Career Readiness - Receive tailored support from the Early Careers team in preparation for solicitor apprenticeship applications opening in Autumn 2026.
- Current Year 12 student at school or college.
- Member of The Black Apprentice Network or from a Black Heritage background.
- Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in law or professional services.
- Commitment to attend scheduled webinars, workshops, and events.
- Strong motivation to explore a legal career.
- Willingness to learn and engage in new experiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to group success.
- Resilience and adaptability in a professional environment.
- Hands-on exposure to the legal sector.
- Confidence-building and professional development.
- Networking opportunities with TLT professionals and peers.
- Guidance through application and assessment processes.
- Applications open: 10 November 2025.
- Complete an online application form including personal statement questions on motivation, resilience, teamwork, and career aspirations.
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an assessment centre.
