Are you a teacher who’s passionate about guiding students to achieve their full potential both in and out of the classroom? At The Manchester College, we’re looking for Achievement Tutors to support learners' academic success through engaging group tutorials. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in helping students stay on track, meet their goals, and thrive in their studies by delivering outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment via engaging activities, resources, and focused academic coaching while monitoring individual student progress in 1-1 reviews using tools like Pro Monitor and Markbook.

You’ll collaborate closely with teaching teams, develop high-quality learning resources, and champion student voice, employability, and achievement at every stage.

We have an exciting opportunity at our City Campus Manchester to join us as an Achievement Tutor for Creative Industries (within the Music department) on a permanent, part-time (21 hours per week) basis. You will manage allocated students/student groups and deliver a highly effective tutorial and pastoral programme which ensures the overall academic, pastoral, social and behavioural progress of students is tracked and supported so students achieve outstanding retention, achievement, progress, and progression outcomes.

To be successful in the role of Achievement Tutor, you will need:
  • Certificate of education or PGCE.
  • Current and valid industry specialism.
  • Assessor qualifications (if required by Awarding Organisation).
  • Minimum Level 3 occupational qualification.
  • English and maths minimum level 2 Grace C or grade 4 and above.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
