Temporary Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Rochdale)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Rochdale on a temporary basis.

This role involves supporting young people with Autism (ASC), helping them to access learning and develop socially and emotionally within the classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with Autism

* Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons

* Support pupils with challenging behaviour, using positive behaviour management strategies

* Promote a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment

* Encourage independence, communication, and positive social interaction

Essential Requirements:

* Previous experience supporting children or young people with Autism (ASC)

* Experience managing or supporting pupils with challenging behaviour

* A caring, patient, and resilient approach

* A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow school policies

Desirable:

* Experience working within a primary school setting

* Relevant qualifications or training in education, SEND, or behaviour support
