Learning Support Assistant (Level
3) to work in Key Stage 2

  • Working Pattern: 8:30 am‑3:30 pm Monday‑Friday. Term time only plus 5 days INSET.

The Governors, staff and children at Lark Hill Primary School are looking to appoint an excellent and hardworking Learning Support Assistant (Level
3) to share in our vision within our school. All children deserve the very best and we are looking for a professional who has a passion for the teaching and the learning of children and is committed to our school values of NURTURE; ACHIEVE and RESPECT.

The LSA will be responsible for working within our Key Stage 2 classes, predominantly in Years 3 and 4, supporting teaching and learning for all children across the classes. Working closely with the class teachers and Assistant Head Teacher for this phase of the school. You will support in the planning, organisation and delivery of the National Curriculum and programmes of intervention, as well as collaborating with staff from the other schools in our partnership, when needed.

Responsibilities
  • Have the appropriate teaching and learning level 3 diploma or equivalent qualification or be willing to work towards it.
  • Have experience of delivering and supporting the delivery of the KS2 National Curriculum.
  • Promote and model the school values of NURTURE; ACHIEVE and RESPECT.
  • Promote and model the school vision including infusing honesty and integrity into all of school life.
  • Develop high quality professional relationships with children, colleagues, parents, carers and Governors.
  • Contribute to the development of an inspiring culture for learning across the school.
  • Plan and differentiate to meet the needs of all pupils, including pupils with SEND.
  • Deliver teaching and learning as part of cover, taking a lead in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Understand the importance and impact of teamwork and collaboration. Work in collaboration with professionals and school staff to work towards individual and group targets.
  • Have the ability to self‑evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities.
  • Understand attachment theory and the functions of behaviour, and have proven experience of positive behaviour management strategies and a commitment to the school’s relationship and behaviour policy.
Qualifications
  • Appropriate Level 3 teaching and learning qualification or willingness to progress to one.
  • Experience with the KS2 National Curriculum.
  • Knowledge of SEND principles and differentiation.
  • Positive behaviour management experience.
