Are you an experienced Behaviour Mentor, SEN Teaching Assistant, or Youth Support Worker looking for a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference to young people's lives?
We are working with a thriving PRU / Alternative Provision secondary school in Salford that is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to support students with challenging behaviour and additional learning needs, including ASC (Autism) and ADHD, across Key Stages 3 and 4.
The Role - Behaviour Mentor
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting students' academic progress, emotional regulation, and social development. You will work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams to create a safe, engaging, and structured learning environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing 1:1 and small group support for students with behavioural and emotional needs
Supporting pupils during whole-class lessons to promote engagement and positive behaviour
Implementing effective behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
Building positive, trusting relationships to improve confidence and self-esteem
Supporting students to achieve expected academic and personal development outcomes

The Ideal Candidate
✔ Experience working with children or young people in a SEN, PRU, Alternative Provision, care, residential, or youth work setting
✔ A calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour management
✔ Strong communication and teamwork skills
✔ A genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable learners
✔ A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or a degree in Psychology or a related field, is desirable but not essential
