A warm and welcoming SEN school in North Manchester is seeking a compassionate, patient, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team and positively contribute to the school's inclusive and welcoming community.
The Role - SEN Teaching Assistant
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be a valued member of a dedicated support team, working closely with teaching staff to ensure students are supported throughout the school day in a structured, nurturing, and well-managed classroom environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting secondary pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASC, ADHD, PMLD, and physical needs
Providing 1:1 and small-group support to promote engagement and academic progress
Assisting with differentiated learning activities tailored to individual EHCP targets
Promoting positive behaviour, independence, and emotional wellbeing
Building strong, trusting relationships with students, staff, and families

The Ideal Candidate
✔ Experience working with children or young people in a SEN school, mainstream school, care, or specialist education setting
✔ Strong communication skills and a calm, proactive approach
✔ Commitment, resilience, and patience when supporting students with complex needs
✔ A degree in Psychology (or related field) or a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
