Behaviour Mentor (SEMH)
Location: Hulme, Greater Manchester
Start Date: 12 January 2026
Contract: Full-time Long-term
Salary: £525-£700 per week (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
We are delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive specialist school in Hulme to recruit a Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a patient, resilient and compassionate individual who is passionate about helping young people develop confidence, emotional regulation and positive learning behaviours. You will play a key role in providing stability, encouragement and guidance to pupils who benefit from consistent and nurturing support.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs
- Support the class teacher with lesson delivery, behaviour management and targeted interventions
- Encourage positive routines, emotional resilience and self-regulation throughout the school day
- Monitor progress and share updates with teaching staff and families as appropriate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs (within education, care, youth work or similar settings)
- Brings a calm, empathetic and proactive approach to behaviour support
- Has strong communication skills and is confident building positive relationships
- Demonstrates an understanding of SEMH and SEND strategies
- Holds a relevant qualification in education, care or support (desirable but not essential)
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced DBS with the child barred list on the Update Service, or be willing to apply
- Be able to provide two professional references (child-related preferred)
