We are seeking an exceptional and inspirational Deputy Head Teacher to join our senior leadership team at an exciting point in the school’s development. Our school is a diverse, inclusive and welcoming community, proud to serve families in the heart of the city. We are a larger-than-average two-form entry primary school with a large, well-established Enhanced Resource Provision (ERP) for children with autism and speech and language needs.
Inclusion, ambition and high expectations for all pupils are at the centre of everything we do.
- Provide strategic leadership and play a key role in shaping the vision and direction of the school
- Lead on teaching and learning to ensure the highest standards across the mainstream school and the ERP
- Support and develop staff through coaching, mentoring and professional development
- Champion inclusive practice and high-quality provision for pupils with SEND
- Contribute to safeguarding, behaviour, curriculum development and school improvement
- Be a visible, positive presence for pupils, staff, parents and carers
- Is an outstanding classroom practitioner with proven leadership experience
- Has a strong commitment to inclusion and a clear understanding of SEND, particularly autism and speech and language needs
- Has experience of managing safeguarding at a leadership/whole school level
- Can lead and manage change with vision and empathy
- Can inspire, motivate and support staff to achieve their best
- Is reflective, resilient and solution-focused
- Builds strong relationships with pupils, families, colleagues and external professionals
- Will work closely with the Head Teacher to drive forward our strategic priorities and school improvement plan
- Will have strong organisational skills
- Shares our belief that every child deserves to succeed, regardless of starting point
