Leadership of, and responsibility for the day-to‑day efficient management and operational running of Acer Academy free school.

Acer Academy is a secondary special school Y7‑Y11 for children with ASC/SEMH needs. At capacity the school will be a provision for 64 children. Small class sizes with a high staffing ratio are required.

The Headteacher will need expertise in SEMH/ASC and have worked with children with EHCPs.

Head teachers occupy an influential position in society, shape the teaching profession, and provide role modelling within the communities they serve.

They are accountable for the education of current and future generations of children and their leadership has a decisive impact on the quality of teaching and pupils’ achievements.

Head teachers lead by example in the professional conduct and practice of teachers, minimising unnecessary teacher workload and allowing room for high quality continuous professional development for staff.

They secure a climate for exemplary behaviour of pupils, set standards and expectations for high academic standards, recognise differences and respect cultural diversity within modern Britain.

Head teachers, together with those responsible for Governance, are guardians of the nation’s schools.
