We are looking for a dedicated Youth Mentor to join our team in Salford, helping young people overcome challenges and achieve their potential. As a Youth Mentor, you will work with students facing social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges, providing one-to-one support to guide them through personal and academic development.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one mentoring for students, offering emotional support and guidance.
Help students develop essential life skills, build confidence, and improve social interactions.
Work with young people to set personal goals and create action plans to achieve them.
Support students with academic tasks, including English and Maths, where necessary.
Act as a positive role model, building trust and helping students navigate challenges.
Communicate with parents/carers and professionals to ensure a holistic approach to support.
Essential Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of experience working with young people, preferably in a mentoring or support role.
Experience supporting students with SEMH or other additional needs.
Right to work in the UK.
Must have, or be willing to undertake, an Enhanced DBS check.
Desirable
Qualifications:
Experience working in a similar role with young people who face academic or personal challenges.
Qualification in Youth Work, Social Care, or a related field.
