Are you ready to change the narrative for a young person? We are looking for dedicated educators in St Helens to provide 1:1 support for children and young people currently outside of mainstream education. This role is about more than just tutoring; it's about rebuilding confidence, sparking curiosity, and providing a stable path back to learning.
Whether you're supporting a primary pupil with literacy or a secondary student preparing for exams, your goal is the same: making education accessible for everyone.
The Impact You’ll MakeAs a 1:1 Tutor, you will deliver bespoke learning sessions tailored to the individual. You will work with a diverse range of learners, including those in Primary and Secondary phases, Looked After Children (LAC) and pupils who require extra emotional or academic support.
- Personalised Teaching:
Deliver English, Maths, or Science (KS2‑KS4) in a way that resonates with the student. - Bridge the Gap:
Support learners – including those with SEND, SEMH, or simply those facing barriers to learning – to re‑engage with education. - Build Trust:
Develop strong, positive relationships with pupils and their families. - Create Success:
Set a pace that works for the child, helping them transition back into school or structured environments.

- Subject Confidence:
Strong knowledge in Maths, English, or Science. - Experience:
At least 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience (QTS/PGCE is a plus, but we also welcome HLTAs and experienced Mentors). - Empathy: A patient, adaptable approach to learning.
- Safeguarding:
An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
