Position Overview

The Country Manager, India, is part of the International Student Recruitment team which is part of the Division of Student Services and Operations at the University of Tasmania. This role is pivotal in advancing the university’s international recruitment strategy and enhancing our global presence.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, South Asia, the Country Manager will engage in a variety of activities aimed at attracting and enrolling high-quality international students. This position will involve collaboration with internal teams, external stakeholders, and recruitment partners to implement innovative recruitment initiatives and events that align with the university’s strategic goals.

The Country Manager has a key role in the International Recruitment team with responsibility for representing the University at recruitment events, providing training to our education agents and partners, building and managing our education agent relationships, proactively counselling prospective students to support their student journey, and identifying opportunities to work with government departments and other educational institutions. This role will aim to recruit high-quality students to the University to achieve the annual international recruitment performance targets as set by the University.

The Country Manager plays a vital role in advancing the University of Tasmania’s mission by enhancing our global presence and attracting a diverse cohort of international students. This position is essential for fostering our education agent networks and relationships to help build our university brand on ground.

  • Increased Enrolment:Achieve targeted growth in international enrolments by optimising each stage of the student recruitment lifecycle to attract, engage, and convert high-quality international students.
  • Strengthened Relationships:Develop and maintain high‑performing international education agent partnerships and grow strategic stakeholder networks to support quality student recruitment.
  • Successful Events:Organise and execute impactful recruitment related events and engagement activities that effectively promote the university and attract prospective students.
  • Market Intelligence:Provide valuable insights and analysis on market trends and opportunities, informing recruitment strategies and decision-making processes.

    Support a seamless recruitment and onboarding journey for prospective international students, ensuring they receive relevant comprehensive support and information throughout the process.
  • Operational Support:Assist in the management of day‑to‑day activities, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication within the international recruitment team.
