Overview
The Leaf Learning Support Assistant Level 3 (Maternity Cover) is a fixed-term contract until 31 December 2026, required from Summer Term. The Governors, staff and children at Lewis Street Primary School are looking to appoint an excellent and hardworking Learning Support Assistant (Level
3) to support our vision within a multi-cultural school.

The school has an Executive Head Teacher and works in partnership with Christ Church CE Primary School and Lark Hill Primary School. It also hosts an SEMH Enhanced Resource Provision and Place2
Be, an on-site therapeutic counselling service.
- Have the appropriate teaching and learning level 3 diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Have knowledge of specific teaching programmes such as Read Write Inc Phonics.
- Promote and model the school values of EXCELLENCE; RESPECT; CHALLENGE and SELF-BELIEF.
- Promote and model the school vision, including infusing honesty and integrity into all school life.
- Develop high quality professional relationships with children, colleagues, parents, carers and Governors.
- Contribute to the development of an inspiring culture for learning across the school.
- Plan and adapt learning to meet the needs of groups of pupils, including those with SEND.
- Deliver teaching and learning as part of whole class provision.
- Understand the importance and impact of teamwork and collaboration.
- Be committed to the importance of experiential learning.
- Have the ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities.
- Understand the functions of behaviour and have experience of positive behaviour management strategies and a commitment to the school’s policy.
- Level 3 teaching/learning diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Knowledge of Read Write Inc Phonics or equivalent programs (preferred).
