Graduate Teaching Assistant

Wythenshawe

Full‑Time

ASAP - July 2026

Thinking about a future in educational psychology, SEN, speech and language therapy or mental health?
Start where it really matters— in education.

We're working exclusively with a welcoming primary school in Wythenshawe who are looking for a Psychology graduate to join their Early Years team as a Teaching Assistant / Specialist Support. This role is all about early intervention, emotional regulation, and building strong foundations for learning.

If you want real, hands‑on experience (not just observing from the sidelines), this one's for you.

The Role

You’ll be working within EYFS only, supporting children at a crucial stage of development. Many pupils have additional needs, including Autism, ADHD and SEMH, so your day will be varied, meaningful, and fast‑paced.

You'll be
  • Supporting children 1:1 and in small groups
  • Helping pupils develop communication, emotional regulation and social skills
  • Using play‑based and child‑centred approaches to support learning
  • Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and external professionals
  • Making a genuine impact at the earliest stage of education
Why This Role?
  • Proper classroom experience – not just “graduate admin”
  • Ideal stepping stone into Educational Psychology, SEN or therapy routes
  • EYFS focus provides an excellent grounding in child development
  • Supportive school that values graduates and invests in them
  • Long‑term role offering consistency and progression
We’re Looking For
  • A degree in Psychology or a closely related subject
  • A strong interest in early years, SEN and child development
  • A calm, patient and emotionally intelligent approach
  • Confidence to engage with children who need additional support
  • Any experience working with children is desirable but not essential
  • Attitude matters more than experience. If you're the right fit, the school will support you.
Working with Time Plan Education
  • Competitive rates of pay
  • Free online CPD (including EYFS, SEN and safeguarding)
  • A dedicated consultant who understands local schools
  • An app to manage your diary and track bookings
  • Opportunities to connect with other education professionals through events
