A growing higher education provider is seeking a Study Skills Lecturer to join its academic team in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to support students studying health-related programmes by developing the academic skills that underpin their success at university level.

The organisation partners with several UK universities to deliver foundation and degree pathways and is committed to changing lives through education by supporting students from diverse backgrounds.

Due to the teaching model, this role requires flexibility to deliver teaching during weekdays, evenings and weekends. Please note this position cannot offer visa sponsorship.

The Role

You will play a key role in helping students develop the academic and study skills required to succeed in higher education.

Key responsibilities include:

Deliver engaging academic skills teaching
Design and deliver workshops, tutorials and learning resources to support students in areas such as:

* Academic writing and referencing

* English language and numeracy

* Research skills

* Critical and analytical thinking

* Presentation and communication skills

* Digital and organisational skills

Support student progress
Provide constructive feedback on student work, helping learners understand assessment criteria and develop strategies to improve performance.

Enhance the student learning experience
Monitor and evaluate teaching practices, identify areas for improvement and contribute to the continuous enhancement of teaching quality and student engagement.

About You

You will be passionate about education and committed to helping students from diverse backgrounds succeed in higher education.

Essential

* Master’s degree in a relevant subject area (PhD desirable)

* Experience teaching in UK Higher Education

* Experience delivering study skills, academic skills or learning development support

* Experience supporting adult learners from diverse backgrounds

* Strong digital literacy and excellent communication skills

* Ability to deliver both group teaching and one-to-one academic support

Desirable

* Experience in curriculum design, course development or digital learning resources

* DELTA or CELTA qualification

* Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (or equivalent) or Fellowship of Advance HE
