Senior Learning Mentor; Temporary

Position: Senior Learning Mentor (Temporary)
Leader Education are recruiting for an experienced Senior Learning Mentors to support students in a specialist school in Manchester. This role focuses on mentoring pupils who require additional pastoral support to remain engaged in education.

Senior Learning Mentors play a key role in helping students build confidence, resilience and positive attitudes towards learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide mentoring and pastoral support to students experiencing barriers to learning.

• Support pupils with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges or low engagement.

• Develop positive relationships to help students improve confidence and motivation.

• Work with school staff to implement pastoral support plans.

• Encourage attendance, engagement and positive behaviour.

• Track student progress and contribute to support planning.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in mentoring, pastoral support, youth work or education.

• Understanding of SEMH and barriers to learning.

• Excellent communication and motivational skills.

• Ability to build strong relationships with young people.

• Patient, empathetic and resilient approach.

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
