Are you a compassionate and patient Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs? Cover People are recruiting for a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child with Autism within a welcoming primary school in North Manchester.

Responsibilities
  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child with Autism throughout the school day
  • Support the child's communication, emotional regulation, and engagement with learning
  • Build a positive and trusting relationship to help the child feel safe and supported
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCO to implement tailored support strategies
  • Adapt activities and learning approaches to meet individual needs
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive social interaction
  • Support during transitions, classroom activities, and unstructured times where needed
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience supporting children with Autism or additional needs (preferred but not essential)
  • Calm, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Ability to remain adaptable and resilient in different situations
  • Passion for supporting children's development and wellbeing
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
