We have an exciting opportunity to join our Supported Learning Department as a SEND Support Practitioner on a permanent, full-time (35 hours per week), term‑time only basis (over 39 weeks).
The role will be based at either our City Campus Manchester or Harpurhey campus.
This is a collaborative role supporting students in class and also promoting inclusive and accessible resource design. The postholder will share practice with teaching staff on adapting classroom materials to ensure accessibility for all learners, including those with sensory needs.
This will include coaching staff to create accessible documents, which are then suitable for conversion to Braille or other formats. The ability to use Assistive Technology and/or Braille would be an advantage, or a willingness to be trained.
The postholder will encourage teachers to create resources which are accessible and inclusive from the outset, whilst providing guidance, advice, and ongoing support.

Skills, Qualifications and ExperienceTo be successful in this role, you will need to:
- Minimum Level 2 Learning Support qualification, or willingness to achieve within an agreed period.
- Experience of providing support or teaching and learning to students of school or college age.
- Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
- Willingness to work towards secondary specialist support areas at minimum Level 2 when in post.
- Dyslexia SEND Support Practitioners require a minimum level 3 supporting Learners with Dyslexia qualification.
- Experience in a school or college setting of VI support and/or skills in the application of assistive technologies.
