Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging culinary lessons aligned with the curriculum.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience
  • Certificate of education or PGCE.
  • Current and valid industry specialism.
  • Assessor qualifications (if required by Awarding Organisation).
  • Minimum Level 3 occupational qualification.
  • English and maths minimum level 2 Grade C or grade 4 and above.
  • Significant experience delivering outstanding teaching and learning.
  • Proven track record of high‑quality teaching in a subject specialism or valid industry specialism.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to meet delivery targets and plans.
  • Accurate and timely reports and records.
  • Positive contribution to planning processes.

We welcome applications from aspiring teachers who are passionate about sharing their industry skills. At The Manchester College, you will be supported by our Teaching Academy to work towards qualified teacher status for post‑16 compulsory education, through a Cert Ed/PGCE. This includes 3–4 hours delivery per week and engagement with a mentor to support your progress in the profession while you work.

The starting salary for an unqualified teacher is between £30,750 – £32,931. Once you’ve successfully qualified and demonstrated your teaching competence, you’ll progress to the qualified teacher salary banding.

• Consideration will be given to relevant industry experience and skills with the flexibility to offer increased starting salaries in some circumstances.
