We are seeking an enthusiastic, flexible, and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Wythenshawe, Manchester. In this role, you will provide high‑quality classroom support, working closely with teachers to create a calm, purposeful, and nurturing learning environment where children can thrive. You will support teaching and learning across the school, working with whole classes, small groups, and individual pupils as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality teaching and learning support to pupils, following lesson plans and adapting activities to meet individual needs.
  • Work with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning, promote engagement, and support progress.
  • Support classroom teachers with the planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons, as well as assessment and recording of pupils’ progress.
  • Help maintain a positive and productive classroom environment, using effective behaviour management strategies and encouraging pupil participation.
  • Provide tailored support to pupils with additional needs, including SEND, where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to support pupils’ development and well‑being.
  • Assist in tracking pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers, and contributing to pupil reports where required.
Person Specification
  • Hold a recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or have equivalent relevant experience.
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting is essential; experience supporting pupils across different year groups is desirable.
  • Ability to support teaching and learning effectively with a proactive approach to behaviour management and pupil engagement.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom situations and work with pupils of varying abilities and needs.
  • Team player, willing to collaborate with teachers, support staff, and school leadership to ensure a positive educational experience for pupils.
  • Excellent communication skills with children, teachers, and parents.
  • Clear understanding of child protection procedures and commitment to creating a safe learning environment for all pupils.
