Job Title - Learning Support Mentor

Pay Scale - £23,000 - £27,000 (already pro-rata’d)

  • Level 2 qualifications or above in both English and Maths (e.g., GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent)

Role Purpose

We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated Learning Support Mentors to join our rapidly growing team. The Learning Support Mentor will play a key role in supporting students to build their confidence, develop essential life and employability skills, and achieve personal growth. This includes delivering tailored sessions in core subject areas of Navigators customised qualifications of Level 1 Personal Development and Level 1 Employability, English, maths, vocational and non-vocational courses while fostering social inclusion and resilience.

The ideal candidate will provide mentorship, guidance, and individualised support to help students overcome barriers to learning and transition successfully into further education, training, or employment opportunities. By creating a safe and nurturing environment, the Learning Support Mentor will empower students to unlock their potential and prepare for the next step in their journey.

Role responsibilities
  • Provide 121 and small group mentoring and support to students in a community setting. The contact time will be 30 hours per week.
  • Deliver academic core subjects, such as English and maths.
  • Facilitate engaging sessions in personal development, employability and areas of student interest, ensuring activities align with their learning needs and career aspirations.
  • Develop students’ social, vocational, and life skills through engaging activities.
  • Act as a motivational figure for students, helping them build confidence and resilience.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of student engagement, progress and challenges.
  • Participate in half‑termly training and CPD.
  • Commitment to safeguarding all our young people, promoting the high standards of safeguarding in the organisation at all times.
