We are looking to appoint a School Attendance Assistant to work within a friendly, committed and hard‑working team in our school office.
This is a varied role involving many aspects of school administration. The successful candidate will be efficient and conscientious, with excellent organisational skills.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contribute to the provision of a responsive and comprehensive high‑quality support service to help improve overall school attendance in the school.
- Support the school to ensure the achievement of attendance objectives.
- Undertake reception duties.
- Undertake routine clerical and administrative support duties.
- Maintain manual and computerised records and management information systems.
- Be aware and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person as soon as they arise.
- Knowledge and understanding of working with children, young people and families and dealing with barriers to education.
- Some knowledge and understanding of school attendance systems and reporting.
- Excellent IT, written, oral and listening communication skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures.
- Good interpersonal skills and a pleasant manner.
- A good sense of humour, ability to work calmly in stressful situations and work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to enter fully into the life of the school.
