About the Role

Cover People are currently recruiting for a Music Teacher to join an oversubscribed, welcoming secondary academy (11–16) based in Didsbury, South Manchester, from September 2026 until December 2026.

This position offers the opportunity to make a positive impact in a long-term role, delivering engaging and inspiring Music lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. ECT 1s and ECT 2s will be allocated a supportive mentor to help them complete a full term of their induction.

M1–M6 Teachers will be paid to scale from day one.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality Music lessons in line with the national curriculum
Plan, prepare, and assess engaging learning activities that inspire creativity and musical development
Monitor and assess pupil progress effectively
Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment
Support the academic, creative, and personal development of all learners
Contribute to the wider life of the Music department where appropriate

Requirements

QTS or equivalent UK teaching qualification
Experience teaching Music at KS3 and GCSE level
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
A passion for Music education and pupil progress
Ability to engage and motivate learners of varying abilities
Right to work in the UK
