Pastoral Support Officer – Secondary School (Salford)

A supportive and inclusive secondary school in Salford is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Support Officer to join their pastoral team from September 2026. This full‑time position offers an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting students’ wellbeing, behaviour, and overall development.

• Provide pastoral support to students to promote positive behaviour and engagement with learning
• Work closely with Heads of Year, safeguarding leads, and teaching staff
• Support students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges
• Monitor attendance, punctuality, and student wellbeing

• Experience working with young people is highly desirable, particularly in a school or similar setting
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to remain calm, resilient, and professional in challenging situations
• A proactive and supportive approach to student wellbeing
• A genuine commitment to supporting young people to succeed
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

This role would suit individuals with backgrounds in education, youth work, counselling, or support work, or those aspiring to progress into pastoral or safeguarding roles within schools.
