We are seeking an inspiring and resilient English Teacher to join our Alternative Provision team, supporting Key Stage 4 learners who have been excluded from mainstream education settings.
Location:
Openshaw campus (Manchester).
You will deliver engaging and creative AQA English Language lessons to Key Stage 4 learners, and work closely with pastoral staff and wider support teams to assist learners with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
Success in this role requires excellent communication, strong behaviour management, empathy, resilience and a genuine commitment to inclusive education.

Skills, Qualifications and ExperienceEssential Criteria
- Certificate of education or PGCE.
- Experience of teaching English Language at Key Stage 4.
- Knowledge of the AQA English Language curriculum.
- Assessor qualifications (if required by Awarding Organisation).
- Minimum Level 3 occupational qualification.
- English and maths minimum level 2 Grace C or grade 4 and above.
- Experience working with young people with additional needs or challenging behaviours.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.
- The ability to motivate and inspire disengaged learners.
- Experience working within Alternative Provision, PRU, SEND, or similar settings.
- Experience supporting learners with SEMH needs.
- Understanding of trauma‑informed practice.
