We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Literacy Intervention Assistant to support students in KS3 and KS4 who require additional help with reading and writing.
Working closely with the SEND and English teams, you will deliver targeted literacy interventions using the Read Write Fresh Start programme, helping students make rapid progress in reading accuracy, fluency, comprehension and confidence.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality literacy intervention sessions.
- Conduct reading assessments and monitor student progress.
- Maintain accurate records using school systems.
- Work collaboratively with SEND, English and pastoral teams.
- Support students with literacy needs in lessons where required.
- Promote high expectations and inclusive practice.
- Uphold safeguarding policies and procedures.
You will have:
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
- Strong literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students.
- A commitment to safeguarding and inclusion.
- Experience of delivering phonics or literacy programmes, supporting SEND students, or using Edukey Provision Map would be advantageous.
