Learning Support Assistant (SEN) – Secondary School, Salford

A forward‑thinking secondary school in Salford is seeking a committed and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full‑time basis from September 2026
. This role will focus on providing targeted support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Support students with a range of additional needs, including autism
, ADHD
, and learning difficulties - Assist in adapting classroom activities to ensure all students can access the curriculum
- Deliver small group and 1:1 interventions tailored to individual learning plans
- Promote independence, confidence, and positive engagement with learning
- Help manage behaviour in line with the school’s policies and SEN strategies
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN is desirable; however, applicants with relevant transferable experience (e.g., care, youth work, support work, coaching) are encouraged to apply
- A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- A genuine interest in supporting students with additional needs
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
- A supportive school with a strong inclusive ethos
