Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? Looking for a meaningful role within specialist SEND schools this September?
Join Teaching Personnel as a SEND Support Practitioner and play a key role in supporting pupils across a range of specialist provision settings.
About the RoleYou will be working in specialist SEND schools, supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs, including:
- Autism (ASC) and communication needs
- PMLD and complex learning difficulties
- Sensory processing needs
- Physical disabilities and medical needs
- Social, emotional, and developmental needs
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs
- Assist in delivering personalised learning activities
- Support pupils with communication, engagement, and independence
- Help maintain a calm, structured, and inclusive environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and SEN professionals
- Support pupils with personal care where required
- Roles across a variety of specialist provision schools
- Day‑to‑day, short‑term, and long‑term opportunities
- September start roles with potential for temp‑to‑perm placements
- The chance to build valuable SEND‑specific experience
- Ongoing support from a dedicated SEN consultant

- Experience supporting children or young people (schools, care, or support settings)
- Knowledge of or interest in SEND (autism, complex needs, communication profiles)
- A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
- Confidence supporting pupils with additional and sometimes complex needs
- A proactive attitude and genuine passion for inclusive education
- Full‑time availability (Monday–Friday, 08:30–15:30 preferred)
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Specialist consultants with expertise in SEND and specialist education
- Free CPD including autism awareness, safeguarding & SEND strategies
