SEND Support Practitioner – Specialist Provision Schools

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? Looking for a meaningful role within specialist SEND schools this September?

Join Teaching Personnel as a SEND Support Practitioner and play a key role in supporting pupils across a range of specialist provision settings.

About the Role

You will be working in specialist SEND schools, supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs, including:

  • Autism (ASC) and communication needs
  • PMLD and complex learning difficulties
  • Sensory processing needs
  • Physical disabilities and medical needs
  • Social, emotional, and developmental needs
Your

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs
  • Assist in delivering personalised learning activities
  • Support pupils with communication, engagement, and independence
  • Help maintain a calm, structured, and inclusive environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and SEN professionals
  • Support pupils with personal care where required

What We’re Looking For
  • Experience supporting children or young people (schools, care, or support settings)
  • Knowledge of or interest in SEND (autism, complex needs, communication profiles)
  • A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
  • Confidence supporting pupils with additional and sometimes complex needs
  • A proactive attitude and genuine passion for inclusive education
  • Full‑time availability (Monday–Friday, 08:30–15:30 preferred)
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
