Overview

Aspire People are working in partnership with a large SEND School in Stockport, SK2. The SLT are looking for candidates with a Sports Coaching background to work as a Teaching Assistant with identified pupils. The school supports pupils with a range of needs including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Pupils may exhibit behaviours that challenge, so candidates need to be confident supporting those with SEMH needs, resilient, and passionate about understanding the bigger picture.

Pupils follow a curriculum pathway and require support with engagement, emotional regulation, and sensory needs.

Responsibilities
  • Work as a Teaching Assistant to support identified pupils with SEMH and other needs.
  • Support pupils to engage with the curriculum, regulate emotions, and manage sensory needs.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils who may be resistant to education.
  • Utilise training provided by the school on specific interventions to support pupils.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience as a Sports Coach or Youth Worker is advantageous and aligns with the role.
  • Confident working with pupils who may display challenging behaviours.
  • Passion and commitment for supporting vulnerable pupils to reach their potential.
Details

This is a full-time role, 08:20 to 15:30, Monday to Friday, term-time only, starting in September, with the potential for permanent employment in the future.
