Overview
The role is available to current Manchester Metropolitan University students based in the UK and is part of a new project that supports learners with lived experience of the criminal justice system to pursue higher education. Students will provide pre‑entry and on‑course support to help them succeed at university.
Role of a Criminal Justice Ambassador- Inspire young people and act as a role model at targeted events such as campus visits, mentoring projects, and network meetings.
- Speak confidentially about experience of the education system and promote higher education as a viable option for those with the aptitude and desire to attend university.
- Participate in discussions with small groups about university experience.
- Current Manchester Met student based in the UK.
- Preferably personal experience with, or interest in supporting, learners impacted by criminal justice processes, but not essential.
- Capable of carrying out most of the tasks listed above.
While the role is advertised at the standard rate, hours and pay will vary depending on each project. Applicants will be invited to a short informal interview with Ivan Hay, the Care Leaver contact for the University.
