As a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer

You’ll design and deliver engaging, practical teaching across Levels 3–7 (foundation to postgraduate), including our highly regarded degree apprenticeships

This Isn't Purely Theoretical Teaching—you'll
  • Teach modern practices in your tech areas (e.g. Agile, Dev Ops, cloud, full‑stack development)
  • Work with apprentices employed in industry, bringing real‑world challenges into the classroom
  • Design hands‑on projects and coding‑based learning experiences
  • Help students build the skills employers actually need
About You

We're looking for experienced computing professionals who are passionate about developing others, to join the Department of Computing and Mathematics.

You’ll Bring
  • An interest in mentoring, coaching, or teaching others
  • A desire to share your knowledge and support student success
  • The ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly
  • Significant industry experience is welcome or a PhD in Computer Science (or related field) is equally valued
  • If you are an expert in Software Engineering, you may be currently working as a Software Engineer /Developer, Senior Engineer / Tech Lead or an Engineering Manager or Mentor.
  • Strong experience in modern software development (languages, frameworks, tools, and workflows)

  • Stage 2 – Interview with Mark Sterling, Faculty Pro Vice Chancellor and Professor Darren Dancey, Head of Department of Computing and Mathematics. Stage 2 interviews are expected to be scheduled in the w/c 27 July, 24 August and 21 September
