Leader Group is proud to be partnering with a renowned Therapeutic Education Service provider to recruit a passionate SEND Teacher. We currently have an outstanding opportunity available in one of our SEN Schools based in Stockport.
AboutThe Role
To specialise in leading and delivering core subjects up to GCSE to KS3 and KS4 aged pupils with ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) and additional needs.
Responsibilities- Teaching and supporting students with a range of special educational needs (SEN).
- Teach pupils aged KS3 and KS4.
- Develop and implement engaging and differentiated lesson plans that meet the diverse academic and emotional needs of students with SEN.
- Adapt teaching strategies, materials, and resources to accommodate individual learning styles and abilities.
- Integrate social and emotional learning (SEL) into the curriculum to support students’ emotional regulation, resilience, and interpersonal skills.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to enhance their learning experience.
- Document and maintain accurate records of students’ achievements, interventions, and progress towards goals.
- Establish clear expectations for behaviour and create a structured and supportive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other professionals to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or behaviour support plans for students.
- Passionate about working with students with SEND needs.
- Specialism in teaching English is essential.
- Experienced – ideally with at least 2 years in a SEND environment or similar setting supporting pupils with ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) and additional needs. Including mainstream schools.
- Qualified – QTS is essential.
- Understands EHCPs and autism-informed practice.
- Calm, organised and passionate about teaching and making a difference.
