Reeson Education is seeking a compassionate, patient and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in the M7 area of Salford from September. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about making a genuine difference to the lives of children with additional needs.
The successful Teaching Assistant will be supporting pupils with a range of complex SEND needs, working both on a one-to-one basis and within the classroom alongside the class teacher and wider SEND team. This is a highly rewarding role where building trusting relationships, providing consistency and helping pupils reach their full potential are at the heart of everything you do.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support pupils with high levels of additional needs both individually and within the classroom.
Work closely with pupils who are non-verbal and require tailored communication strategies.
Support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and associated communication and language needs.
Follow individual support plans, behaviour strategies and established classroom routines.
Encourage communication, independence, emotional regulation and social development.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND professionals and families to ensure the best possible outcomes for every child.
Provide intimate care where required, always maintaining dignity, respect and professionalism.
Create a calm, nurturing and structured environment where pupils feel safe, supported and able to thrive.
The Ideal Teaching Assistant Will Have
Previous experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Experience working with pupils who are non-verbal or have communication and language delays.
Confidence supporting pupils with complex additional needs on both a 1:1 basis and within small groups or whole-class environments.
A patient, calm and flexible approach with excellent relationship-building skills.
A willingness to provide intimate care when required.
The ability to follow established routines, support plans and behaviour strategies consistently.
A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve success.
