Reeson Education is recruiting for a caring, enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the M23 area of Manchester. This is a full-time, long-term maternity cover opportunity expected to run for the full academic year, making it an excellent role for someone looking for consistency and the chance to become part of a supportive school community.

The successful Teaching Assistant will be based within the school's dedicated SEND unit, supporting a small class of pupils from EYFS to Year
2. Many of the children have ASD and are non-verbal, so previous experience supporting pupils with complex communication needs is essential.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support pupils within a specialist SEND provision for children in EYFS through to Year 2.
Work closely with children with Autism (ASD), including pupils who are non-verbal.
Deliver tailored one-to-one and small-group support to help pupils access learning and develop independence.
Use visual supports, structured routines and communication strategies to encourage engagement.
Support pupils with emotional regulation, social interaction and communication development.
Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENDCo and wider multidisciplinary team.
Help create a calm, nurturing and engaging learning environment where every child feels safe and valued.

The Ideal Teaching Assistant Will Have

Previous experience supporting children within EYFS.
Strong experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Experience supporting non-verbal pupils or children with speech, language and communication needs.
A patient, calm and nurturing approach.
The ability to build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs to reach their full potential.
