About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher to join a specialist SEND school in the Northenden area, supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2 with a range of additional needs including ASD, SEMH, communication and learning needs.

You'll deliver personalised, engaging learning that enables every pupil to achieve meaningful progress, while creating a safe, nurturing and structured classroom environment. Working alongside support staff, therapists and families, you'll play a key role in helping pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally, preparing them for successful transition into secondary education.

Key Responsibilities

* Plan and deliver personalised lessons tailored to EHCP outcomes and individual learning needs.

* Teach a broad primary curriculum with a focus on phonics, reading, writing and maths.

* Create an inclusive, structured classroom that supports communication, emotional regulation and independence.

* Monitor, assess and record pupil progress, contributing to EHCP reviews and annual reviews.

* Develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

* Implement positive behaviour strategies using trauma-informed and nurture-based approaches.

* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, parents and external professionals.

* Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and positive outcomes for every child.

Essential

Skills & Qualifications

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

* Degree qualification.

* Experience teaching pupils in KS1 and/or KS2.

* Experience supporting pupils with SEND and adapting teaching to individual needs.

* Knowledge of EHCPs, personalised learning and differentiated teaching.

* Strong behaviour management and classroom organisation skills.

* Excellent communication, assessment and record-keeping abilities.

* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.

Desirable Skills

* Experience with in a specialist SEND or alternative provision.

* Knowledge of ASD, SEMH and complex learning needs.

* Training in trauma-informed practice, nurture, phonics or communication strategies

* Experience working with multi-agency professionals including Speech & Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists.
